Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday announced “Dilli Bazaar”, an electronic marketplace, where every small and large entrepreneur in the capital will have their own e-commerce store.
He said the portal would give entrepreneurs a global online identity and allow shoppers to virtually browse Delhi’s markets and purchase any product they like from home.
“The Delhi government has taken an initiative that will bring prosperity to the businesses of Delhi traders and businessmen, industrialists and professionals. We are developing a website called ‘Dilli Bazaar’, where every entrepreneur in the city will have their own online store, ”Kejriwal said in a digital briefing.
Virtual bazaars
“We will be able to present all their products and services on this portal. Virtual bazaars are being developed on this portal, ”he said.
Significant markets ranging from Khan Market, Lajpat Nagar and Sarojini Nagar to neighborhood DDA markets located in the capital’s residential settlements are said to be present on the portal which, the chief minister said, is expected to be operational by August of the next year.
Not only business-to-business transactions between stores and businesses in Delhi and any part of the world, the portal would also enable virtual trade shows in which individuals from all over the world could participate.
“The portal will also make it possible to organize unique online exhibitions instead of limiting an exhibition to a fixed area and a fixed number of people, this portal will promote endless opportunities for the most specialized products”, he added. he declares.
“’Dilli Bazaar’ will be a huge support for start-ups. These start-ups will benefit from a great boost in their projects by being exposed to a market like this. I am of the opinion that this is a unique initiative of its kind and that there is not yet such an avenue available in the world, ”he added.
Maintain COVID standards
The CM also spoke about maintaining appropriate COVID behavior during the festivities and urged citizens to exercise caution when visiting markets.
“I have also seen photos of markets where standards are violated. I fold my hands in front of the people of Delhi and make a serious request – please wear your masks, please follow appropriate behavior at Covid, ”he said.
“It was around this time even last year that COVID cases exploded and severely affected the state’s festivities. Please don’t be irresponsible. I am not asking this for personal gain, you will get sick. It is you whose families will be threatened, ”he said.
